HH broken?

Post by herefishy » Tue Feb 28, 2006 3:51 pm

Anybody ever have their(fairly new) heated humidifier stop heating? I have a remstar plus with the integrated humidifier, unplugged it to show to somebody the other day, then started it back up, the little green light comes on, but no heat. The DME says bring it in and he'll get me a new one, but I have a hunch that it is something I did.

you may have turned off the heating element but without calling the manufacturer or reading it somewhere in the directions, hard to say whay you did to disengage it.

I'm back, looking at my unit (have the same thing) and I don't see what you could have turned off. Did you try to unplug it and plug it back?

REMstar Integrated Pass-over Humidifier
This integrated pass-over humidifier’s revised design allows you to choose unheated humidification without sacrificing the convenience of the REMstar heated humidifier’s sleek, integrated design.

You did something cause the heat DOES turn off. Still looking. you may need to call Respironics.

Yes, I unplugged it several times and then plugged it into a different circuit even. I can't understand how the light could turn on for the humidifier, but not the heat.

I called respironics and they couldn't figure it out either. Guess I will just have to wait and see if anyone else has had this happen.

Sounds like that's what I would do.

I bet that is the problem, but I reseated it several times, and even wiped the little window on the sensor, with no results. It makes sense that the problem would be something to do with moving it.
