Encore Viewer not recognizing smart card
Encore Viewer not recognizing smart card
Previously have run EncoreViewer from Windows 98 computer. Have a new laptop, running Windows 7. Installed EncoreViewer. Program is setup and running. But, I cannot get SmartCard data imported. I tried both options for PCMCIA or USB. Copy SmartCard data button is gray, not blue so it must not be recognizing SD Card Reader. Any suggestions?

Re: Encore Viewer not recognizing smart card
Smart cards require the DT3500 Infineer smart card reader. M series machines and older used smart cards.
The new PR S1 machines (as shown in your profile) do use the SD cards. These are not the same as smart cards.
Encore Viewer 1.0 will work with M series and older machines. It will NOT work with the new PR S1 machines.
Encore Viewer 2.0 is needed for the new machines. I see "download from device" prompt. I don't see "copy smart card" thing. So wondering what Viewer version you are trying to use?

Re: Encore Viewer not recognizing smart card
OK. I do have an SD card, Encore Viewer 1.0, using Respironics System One APAP.
Re: Encore Viewer not recognizing smart card
Have same machine, same software, same SD card as previously. Just can't get it to recognize SD card on new computer.
Re: Encore Viewer not recognizing smart card
there have been problems with EV 2.0 on 64 bit systems - there are work arounds spelled out on some thread - you can search for them
as Pugsy said you need EV 2.0 for a system 1 machine - check which version you have again

Re: Encore Viewer not recognizing smart card
I have a 32 bit OS. Checked and the version of Encore Viewer I previously used was 1.0.
Re: Encore Viewer not recognizing smart card
my understanding is that encore viewer 2.0 is needed for the PRS1 machine
Re: Encore Viewer not recognizing smart card
Jules is correct. You cannot use Encore Viewer 1.0 with the new PR System One machines. It won't ever read or find the SD card.
You need either to purchase Encore Viewer 2.0 or find Encore Pro 2.4xx or you can even use SleepyHead.

Encore Pro is much more complicated to use than Encore Viewer though. I would suggest trying SleepyHead. Designed for the PR S1 machines and remarkably stable for still being under work. I use it just fine.

Re: Encore Viewer not recognizing smart card
I downloaded Sleepyhead and got it working. Reports are not as extensive as I would like but at least it gives me some tracking of therapy.
It was wonderfully easy to download and get working.
