I am able to use somewhat well a ff mask and the pressure blowing out is very tolerable for me. I don't have wake up apneas with the ff mask.
When I try the swift, the pressure blowing out is seemingly much more and I usually wake up in about an hour with an apnea event gasping.
Questions I need help with:
1. Is it usual for a FF mask to seem to have much less breath out pressure than a pillow type?
2. Can too high a pressure cause this type of event with a pillow type?
3. Or am I mouth beathing and having an apnea? I am using a chin strap with the Swift.
Any ideas appreciated....
Thanks, Kurt

It's very possible to mouth breathe even wearing a chin strap. It all depends on where your tongue is staying. Even with jaw shut so tight that your teeth are clenched, it's possible to puff air in and out from between loosely closed lips.kurtr wrote:3. Or am I mouth beathing and having an apnea? The whole key to not mouthbreathing is the tongue position -- not the jaw position. The tongue has to be in a position inside the mouth to block off air.
