My local clinic now has a pre-screening available to patients that think they might have OSA. The local DME decribed the device as a nasal cannula sort of system that the patient wears for a night and it records irregularities in breathing then the clinic reads the data and determines if a Sleep Study is warranted. It costs the patient about $25. It isn't an APAP but just a monitor that is easy to sleep with and records the resp rate and rhythm. Anyone heard of this?

yes, I know of something similar and it is a good pre screening device. usually they have a belt that goes around the chest or abdomen and a finger probe to moniter oxygen.
although keep in mind even if it doesnt show that you have any breathing difficulties a full sleep study can show other problems not just breathing related issues
