set the pressure in REMstar Plus C-flex CPAP
set the pressure in REMstar Plus C-flex CPAP
Hello,
According to my sleep lab results I should set the pressure to be a Dynamic one (between 4 and 12).
Is there a way to set the pressure to be dynamic in the REMstar Plus C-flex CPAP machine.
Thanks in advance,
aaawww

Re: set the pressure in REMstar Plus C-flex CPAP
Unfortunately, you were sold a piece of JUNK.
First, you do not have an auto-adjusting PAP machine, you have a CONTINUOUS pressure machine. That means you get one pressure, not a range. So the machine is inappropriate for your prescription.
Secondly, your machine does not have efficacy data so that you can see whether or not you are getting proper therapy, or if leaks are a problem.
I suggest you read my blog post below on "What you need to know BEFORE you meet your DME and take that brick back to them. Call your doctor and tell your doctor that they did not give you the appropriate machine for your prescription and that you want a specific prescription for an Philips Respironics System One Auto Adjusting PAP machine. (There are other machines, but chances are you've already paid for the humidifier (or your insurance has) and you don't want to be out a couple of hundred more dollars to buy a new humidifier).
The PR System One Auto is a very good machine and will fit your needs. And unless you have an HMO, it should not cost a penny more (see "Don't pay that upcharge") and there's a 99.9% chance your insurance DOES cover it (the skanky DME you are working with will try to tell you differently!).

Hi,
Thanks for your quick response.
Please allow me to ask another question.

No it does not. Pro CPAP is straight CPAPaaawww wrote:does the REMstar Pro M Series with C-Flex CPAP machine has the function of

I have M Series Auto CPAP, check out my machine in my profile. There are 2 versions of M Series Auto. Earlier one had CFlex only option (I have one that is backup machine), the later version has AFlex (also offers CFlex). I use the AFlex version as primary machine.
Confusing for the Auto to mention CPAP but it is because it also offers straight CPAP mode.

Thanks again.
It's a pity I wasn't familiar with you and your blog before I purchase
my CPAP machine. Thanks for your clear answers.

Is that the machine you actually have?aaawww wrote:Hi,

That machine is at least fully data capable.......you WANT data capabilities.
There's nothing wrong with having a data-capable straight-pressure CPAP machine.
Auto-CPAPs (APAPs) don't necessarily give better therapy (they're just a little more versatile).

Re: set the pressure in REMstar Plus C-flex CPAP
Please confirm which machine you have
M Series Pro CPAP
or Remstar Plus CFlex CPAP.
Was it new? Unusual for those 2 models to be sold unless you got it used. They have both been discontinued.
The M Series Pro is data capable, I was only addressing the auto pressure part of your question.
Respironics use the word "PLus" in 2 different manners on their machine models and it can be confusing.
Remstar Plus CFlex (older model) is not data capable but their latest model Remstar PR S1 CPAP with CFlex Plus is. All depends on where you put the "Plus", and then the Remstar System 1 Plus CPAP with CFlex is not datacapable. See what I mean? Very confusing.
So if you will try to verify which machine you have, we can offer better comments.

set the pressure in REMstar Plus C-flex CPAP
I need to set my machine back to the 10 pounds as prescribed. I had my doctor lower the pressure to 8. I have gotten another type mask that doesn't leak and I would like to up the pressure back to 10 without bothering my doctor. Can you post me to a link that will explain how to do this?
thanks in advance

This link has information on how to change the pressure for pretty much all the machines out there.stumblebum wrote:I need to set my machine back to the 10 pounds as prescribed.
