Resmed Quattro FX

Post by Slinky » Mon Aug 29, 2011 3:54 pm

For those of you who for one reason or another order a new headgear for your Quattro FX (for instance a Small to replace the Medium that came w/the Small mask) be advised that the lower strap clips do NOT come w/the separate headgear. Save those clips off your old (original) headgear.

Yep, and what's equally bad, is that even if you saved your old clips from a Mirage Quattro, they won't work!

Good to know, thanks. I just picked up one this afternoon. As much as I like the Swift FX by the time I put on my chinstrap and tape my mouth shut I figure the FF mask might actually be easier. Do you sleep on your side with it on?

I sleep on my side with the QFX. Zero problems.
my DME told me next time I order a new medium QFX, I can ask that they give a small headgear, and there would be no additional charge.

Oh, yeah. I sleep on both sides or my back w/my Quattro FX w/no problems.

Vader, the clips from the Medium headgear that came w/my Small Quattro FX do work w/the Small headgear. At first I thought they weren't working but when I looked the clips actually have a "front" and a "back" and you have to have them turned the right way when you put them on the headgear. Then they snap into the mask just fine.

Put your glasses on and take a look at the clips and then at the fastener on the mask and you will see there is a ridge in the fasterner and a slot in the clip so the clip has to be turned the right way for the slot to fit over the ridge - or the ridge to fit into the slot - whichever way you want to look at it or say it.

No offense taken, Slinky! LOL!!!

but NO, I was talking about the clips from the Mirage Quattro not fitting the Quattro FX

Now, you may want to put on your glasses, Slinky, and re-read my post.

Yep, yep. I just caught that, Vader. Getting my glasses out now.

By the way, the Quattro FX Small headgear is approved for pediatric use. I just tried mine out today. And it works just fine for me - but - there isn't any extra by any stretch of the imagination. I understand WHY they are shipping the Small Quattro FX w/Medium headgear rather than the Small headgear.

I had read this, but when I ordered new headgear, I was surprised that it came with the clips.

Slinky, at first I was a little worried when I got my small headgear, but my small headgear stretched so much, (after a couple weeks) that NOW it fits perfect for my medium mask.

Yer kidding, Vader!!! We are talking the Quattro FX or the Mirage Quattro??

Otter, I ordered the Small Quattro FX headgear from cpap.com for $31 plus $7 shipping and they (bought 2) did NOT come w/the clips. Did you get yours from your local DME provider or who???????

Nonsense! You gotta at least be as smart as anyone else here!
I think the stretching may likely be due to the straps being so thin in width.
my medium headear did fit with the medium mask at first, but then stretched so much that there wasn't material left to attach the velcro.
You may not have needed to stretch your fabric as much due to factors such as probably having a lot more hair than me. I dunno? ...

Not so much more hair than you I don't think. Mine is cut wash n wear short. But - right from the get go I didn't have much strap for the velcro to adhere to since the Medium headgear was all that much too big for me. It was an especially troublesome problem w/the top straps. I'm warnnig ya, tho. That Small headgear is SMALL. I can see how it was approved for Pediatric use.

1800cpap.com. I ordered the standard/medium gear, #61733. Same price, shipping was a buck cheaper. I can't remember how things were packaged.

http://1800cpap.com/resmed-quattro-fx-f ... dgear.aspx

I ordered mask without headgear and large headgear from cpap.com in April. There was one set of clips in there somewhere, but I'm not sure if they came with the mask or the gear.
