Questions about Intellipap Autoadjust

Post by apneawho » Thu Aug 18, 2011 2:08 pm

I have the S9 Elite and I like it very much. I am doing great. Just completing 4 weeks of therapy now. Thinking of buying an Intellipap Auto travel online to use as backup and to also have the auto capability. My doctor is not going to agree with adjusting my Rx to a pressure range and the DME is playing hard ball on that and won't issue an auto machine.
I think I can purchase the auto machine thru an online company with my current script since it will operate in straight cpap mode. The local DME should do that also, but they are fighting me tooth and nail and blaming it on insurance and doctor. Hogwash. I read the product challenge info on the Intellipap Auto. Is that the same as the model called Intellipap Auto Travel or different? Would anyone who has one please give me feedback? I like the idea of being able to charge with the cigarette lighter adapter also. Would that be a smart move on my part or do you have any other suggestions?

I'm new to treatment but I am wondering why you won't go ahead and change the pressure yourself. Is there something about your machine that restricts you from doing so?

I am thinking more long term. My pressure needs may change. I am on a moderately high pressure of 14 constantly and sometimes have aerophagia. If I had an auto machine I may not need to stay at 14 all night. I don't want to have to go back to sleep lab to determine pressure needs again. Also, I like what I am reading about the compact size of the Intellipap for travel and you can charge the machine with a 12 volt adapter.

You can get an auto online with your original Rx and you can send it via FAX or Email. Not familiar with what you saw -sorry. I love mine and got it from our host's site along with the humidifier and the software. It's all I'll ever need and I don't believe you will find anyone who owns one (without problems) who doesn't like theirs. Some have two and like another brand best but it usually has to do with the software. My software will tell me anything I need to know to remain properly titrated. Just MO.

It is the same machine; I have it and am very happy with it. You don't charge the machine off a 12V plug, it actually runs off the 12VDC. The only difference from 100VAC is that the heater doesn't work in 12V mode, but you can still use the humidifier in "passover" mode and get some moisture.

I hope that helps.

SmartLink module works, but software doesn't, so I'm using SleepyHead. Thanks, JediMark!

just to clarify, it looks like Intellipap only have one auto adjust model. which is a travel size, It does look interesting, I've been considering that one too.
also it does not actually 'charge' on 12volt, (but you probably didn't mean that) it will run on 12v i.l.o. an electric plug (or as well as actually). so you can
run it from a cig lighter as you say, or I use the 12 volt to run from a car battery when we have a power failure, you need
some terminals to allow you to connect it to a normal car battery and at the other end of the wire you have a
cigarette lighter socket into which you would plug your machine. The connector for the car socket for the 12 v either comes with
the machine or is available separately most likely.
