need S9 power supply on short notice

Post by Guest » Sun Aug 07, 2011 8:13 pm

I'm in Ossining, NY for business. When I left on my flight today, it seems that I left the power cable for my CPAP at home. I don't have a car here and will be in training all day long. I'm wondering if there's an easy way to find a replacement locally. Could I use some sort of power cable from Radio Shack? Any ideas?

Did you leave the power supply brick and cord behind, or just the cord that goes between the brick and the wall?

If the latter, this sort of looks like the right cord. Take the brick to Radio Shack and see if it fits.

If you left the brick behind, the ResMed machines are supposedly very picky about having exactly the correct voltages, kludging together some sort of DC power supply on your own is not recommended. I understand many Respironics and ResMed machines use the same plug on the back of the machine, but with polarity reversed. If you plug the wrong power supply into the machine, it goes boom.

Which has nothing at all to do with an S9.

For one night I would tough it out or call my DME and ask if the have a sister location in the area that can loan you one. For more than a day I would have someone at home overnight my brick to my hotel.
