Usually a separate option.

If you were paying for it straight out of pocket, I'd say to try the unheated hose first. Heated hoses are expensive. The heated hoses are somewhat fragile and prone to problems. They are great if you have rainout problems with humidity.

If you route your hose such that any rainout runs downhill back into the machine, you may not have much of a problem with rainout. You can also buy hose covers that help. Depending on how much humidity you use, you may not have rainout.

If your price after insurance is low enough, get the heated hose and buy an unheated hose out of pocket. There should be an unheated hose that comes with the machine from the factory. Don't let the DME steal it. Then put the heated hose in the drawer and see if it works OK with the unheated hose. Try and figure out if you can get better insurance coverage if you start with the heated hose vs. getting it later. Sometimes you get the "you already have a hose, you can't get a new one for 6 months" BS from the insurance company.

I received my Choicemmed Wrist Pulse Oximeter yesterday and wore it over night. Here is the summary chart out of the software provided.

looks much like the graphs from the sleep study but the total events of SpO2 drops of 2% for greater than 10 sec are much lower.
