Is my M Series Pro malfunctioning?

Post by indyredsfan » Sat Jul 30, 2011 8:36 pm

I'm really starting to wonder if my machine is working properly. In addition to my questions about capturing data (see below) I turned on the Auto Off feature. This is supposed to turn off the machine when you take off your mask. I took my mask off this morning about 5 minutes ago, and the machine is still running. I can't get the Mask Alert to go off though I have tried numerous times to intentionally create a large leak. I'm wondering if the machine is sensing pressure properly if it can't detect a large leak or the mask being removed.

My previous post of data problems is below....

I recently purchased a used M Series Pro. I checked the machine when I purchased it, and it only had 178 blowers on it. When I went to the data screens, the first one is the "Summary Data" screen. I don't see this screen even mentioned in either the Provider or User manuals. This screen showed (approximately) the following when I first got the machine:

Therapy hours: 176
Blower Hours: 178
Total Sessions 18
( or numbers close to these. I didn't write them down.)

All the other data screens showed 0.0 for 7 and 30 day averages for AHI, Leaks, etc. I assumed this was because the machine was not used in the last 30 days.

I slept with machine for about 5 hours the first night. The next morning, the blower hours had increased, but nothing else. I learned from this forum how to reset the data, and after I did, the "Summary Data" screen had 0.0 for Therapy hours, Blower Hours, and Total Sessions. I also learned that it takes some time (up to several hours) for session data to show up on the screens. I slept with it again last night. The "Summary Data" showed the following in the morning:

Therapy hours: 0.0
Blower Hours: 10.5 (I was very tired from the short night before!)
Total Sessions: 0

All other data also shows 0.0. (Except for the total machine hours that increased by 10.5.) I've checked several times during the day, and the data has not shown up. It's now 10:30pm. Any ideas as to what's up?

The machine does have a smart card. I don't have a card reader, and I don't plan to buy one since I only plan to use this machine for a few weeks. I'm going to get a new efficacy-data-capable machine. This machine will then only be a backup.

I read that if you have EncorePro, you can de-code the Compliance Check code on the machine. I'd like to know what mine shows if anyone can tell me. Current Compliance Check is: 23270.

Thanks for the help.

I would appreciate any input from previous or current M Series Pro users.

I have software. I tried doing the compliance code thing. Won't work. I need dates of use which must be greater than 21 and less than 30 (don't know why) just things it makes me plug in. Even if I make it up, it only allows me to enter 2 digits of the checkcode. Though should someone get it to work according to software info it only shows days of use greater than 4 hours.

I have no idea why your data doesn't show on screen.
I will assume that you have not accidentally turned off the "show patient the AHI data" in the clinical settings????

Answer: Mine works fine, I only use mine to start up the machine, to turn it off I just hit the button.

Answer: My data shows up..... .you have to tab thru the menu screens.

Answer: Haven't got a clue, if you go to http://www.apneaboard.com you can download the clinicians instructions....its free.

Thanks for the help.
If you read through the above quote of yours you will see the word "answer" below each question...those are my answers. I tried to do it in a color but I'm a computor dumbo, didn't work. I bought a used m series too only had 250 hours on it. I also bought the a used card reader from another member here. I'm sure if you keep your eyes peeled you will find a card reader too. If you find a card reader one of us can send you encore pro or use sleepyhead or oncor..which are programs that members here have done.
Your welcome.
Started cpap in 2010.. still at it with great results.
