I hope your cold is better soon. That's the last thing you need. I'd be tempted to try the Nyquil again after the cold was gone just once to see what happens. Feeling lousy in the afternoon today could have been from the cold instead of the usual sleep problem. Anyway, I'm glad that it seems to have at least kept the cold from further trashing your sleep.

Yes..That is why doc makes me get my liver enzymes tested even though I rarely take anywhere near the daily allowable. Been taking it for over 20 years now. Liver tests completely normal.

Yes. Fairly decent pain control with it and not in the narcotic group.

Reason I asked is that when I take it after 6PM or so it acts in the same way that Nyquil does me. I wake after 3 or 4 hours wired up and ready to solve all the worlds problems. I normally will take 2 of the 50 mg tablets when I get up in the morning. Maybe another dose in early afternoon but even a single 50 mg tablet causes me to wake up rather wired if I take it in the evening. BTW I take the regular Tramadol and not the sustained release version.

Of course with recent wrist fracture I have been taking Percocet and have not taken the Tramadol as they don't play nice together.

Just wondering if the Tramadol you take could possibly be playing a small factor in your wake ups? While I wouldn't expect it to be the sole factor it might contribute to light sleep and thus allow other issues to wake you up.

When I was in my early 20's my doctors freaked after a regular appointment and blood work indicated high liver enzymes. They put me through the wringer trying to figure it out, sending me to specialist after specialist. They've never figured it out, but I later found out all my siblings have the same thing.

I am monitored regularly and even though my liver enzymes are always high, they stay around the same level and my records indicate *HIGH* (but normal for her) -- kind of funny.

I was taking tramadol BEFORE I started any respiratory therapy, but that doesn't mean it isn't a factor. I do know that without it, the leg pain keeps me awake. There's that old catch 22 again.

I did not take Nyquil last night as I really didn't need it. Last night was typical for me -- sleeping okay, but waking up, fully, a lot. My husband had to wake me up once last night because in the middle of turning over, I must have paused and fell back to sleep on my back. He said I was making all kinds of noises!

I woke up at 7:00 this morning, felt high pressure and checked the screen -- IPAP at 19.8. I still think the higher pressures are one piece to this puzzle...they wake me up.
