RemStar Pro 2 Question

Post by njy » Mon Jan 30, 2006 6:58 am

I know it seems picky but.... On the machine I got last week the button do not have a light on when the machine is running. The problem is when I wake up and need to set the ramp again, I can't find the stupid button to press!! the lights are on when the machine is not running -- like in the daytime when I can see the buttons anyway?

Is it a setting I can change, or is this yet one more to go back?
Thanks for any suggestions --
NJY

The lights are on on my machine. I don't know if you have to set something. I didn't.

njy, yes, there is a setting to make the button lights stay on even when the machine is running. They are supposed to stay on all the time when the plugged in machine is turned off.

I don't have the Pro, but here are the instructions for changing the lights setting through the User's menu of a REMstar Auto. I'd expect the instructions for that are the same for your REMstar Pro:

From the REMstar Auto User Manual:

Device Settings
4. Verify/Change the REMstar Auto settings.
To start the setup menu, press and hold the
ramp button. (The airflow must be turned off.)

Setting the Button Lights

d. The button lights symbol will appear and blink.
This setting allows you to have the lights behind
the buttons turned on or off while the airflow is
turned on. (The lights will always be on when the
airflow is off.)

1 = on 0 = off

To change the setting, press the ramp or humidifier
button. Press the right user button to go to the next
setting.

-----

Press the pressure on/off button to exit the settings.

Ask the DME to walk you thru it, quite simple.

Nancy, did they not give you the User manual for your machine? Instructions for turning off the button lights should be in the User manual, since it doesn't require having a therapist handle that setting. It's a User preference, not a therapy setup type of thing, so the setting for the lights is accessible in the User menu, isn't it?
