With the auto Bipap, I feel no pressure at all. I do normally start out taking deep breaths to allow the machine to acclimate to my breathing pattern but that is only 3-4 breaths. I too go to sleep quite fast. My low pressure (Epap) is 8 cm. The high (Ipap) starts at 10, with a max differential of 4 cms as set. After many readouts, it still matches my prescription on average which was 12/8. With the auto, it is either 12/8 or 12/9. With the 12 cm inhale, I have no problem exhaling at 8 cm. If I do wake up at night, I have to check to see if it is even on it is so natural. It is sure like natural breathing and also keeps the airway open. I've never tried Cpap but the Bipap at 2 cm's difference is close I guess. It could be set as a Cpap but then, why waste the Bipap therapy? I hear Bipap is for people who can't tolerate the constant pressure of Cpap anyway, and it is more expensive on top. Ya'll have a good day now, ya hear?
