Good morning!
I've been using encore viewer to see my data, using an Infineer card reader with my Windows XP computer. However, that computer is on its last legs. Has anyone yet found a driver and software so I can use the card reader either on my Mac or my Linux Ubuntu machine? I know about Onkor, and would will happily use that, but neither computer will recognize the card reader!
Thanks for all suggestions.

Re: XP machine dying and Infineer reader
I don't think Onkor works with M Series machines at all any way.

Re: XP machine dying and Infineer reader
Phooey! What alternatives do I have, other than buying a "new" XP computer?
Re: XP machine dying and Infineer reader
Doesn't have to be XP. It will work on Vista computer. Maybe a cheap laptop?
If you could setup something like Bootcamp on the Mac to give yourself a Windows environment the card reader and software should work. Don't remember seeing anyone mention it with the Infineer card reader though. I know that with SD cards they can use the software on Mac with Bootcamp or that other Parallels thingy.

I may have to RISE but I refuse to SHINE.
Re: XP machine dying and Infineer reader
I just now read data from my ASV using the Infineer reader on my Mac. I did so by using Vmware Fusion and a Windows XP installation within that. No problems whatsoever.

Re: XP machine dying and Infineer reader
A used XP laptop off E-Bay just to read the card might be the cheapest way to go. Goofproof was able to get Viewer 2 to work on Windows 7 as long as you stay with 32 bit I think. I think the problem with the driver is when you try to run in 64 bit mode. I am dreading the time when my XP machine dies, it is getting kinda old also but will stick it out until it dies completely.

Re: XP machine dying and Infineer reader
I am currently running windows XP in Linux using Virtual Box. I have run scanners, cameras, cell phones and card readers off the USB ports with no problems.
Re: XP machine dying and Infineer reader
Thanks, Physicsbob, I'll have to try that (once I get it running again -- installing Natty Narwhal messed everything up!). And thanks to the rest of you for your suggestions. My Mac is an old MacMini, so I think the Linux answer will be the best option once its problems are solved.
