You are going to get many different replies to this...it's like asking what car do you like best.

Ditto to what LSAT has said plus most of us have only been allowed to test drive one make and model.
There are some members here that have had a chance to use different machines and will have a preference but most of us have no way of knowing if we would like another machine better.

Pugsy! Are you not going to tell her about data-capable and software?

I think the most important thing is to get a machine that will give you all the data rather than just compliance data. You need to be able to check leak, AHI and AI at a minimum. Most machines have comfort features to reduce pressure on exhalation and other features to make CPAP more comfortable. But a data capable machine will help you know if your therapy is working.

It took me only a hour to get use to my new S9 bilevel. After 6 years I knew what settings I am use to and corrected the settings at when I picked up the machine. The first half hour I relaxed and seemingly fought the machine over when I would inhale and exhale and how much. I held my breath and restarted and the machine synced to my breathing. It has been good since. The machine before was a fisher 254 and was so quiet over the machine before that.

Well, I did think about it but the question was "comfortable" to use. I guess I just assumed OP already was educated on the data aspect of it. If not, I see it has been mentioned.

I actually had a horrible night last night. Couldn't get to sleep, then cat messed with dog and dog saw ghosts outside then cat wanted out and kept playing with mask...... Barely 4 hours of sleep and highly fragmented at that.
So my mind was lazy. When it is, I tend to just answer the basic question and not elaborate.

So that's my excuse, poor as it is..

I am pretty new to CPAP and I have only used one machine. Resmed S9 autoset. I would say get a machine that is fully data capable, that you can obtain the software to monitor your therapy and that has heated hose.
Diagnosed 08/31/10. Titration 9/02/10. Started CPAP 11/01/10. Auto mode 10-15cm. Alternate mask GoLife for her. Back up mask Full-life full face w/Pad-a-cheek mask liner. Comtec CMS F50 wrist pulse oximeter. Sobakawa Cloud Pillow, Sleepyhead software
