Cookies and Milk and Snoredog

Post by gasp » Sat May 07, 2011 8:43 am

Yesterday I read an inflammatory post where a member was chastising posters for how they responded to an original post and my immediate knee-jerk response was to reply, "Here's some cookies and milk, go self-sooth." And then I thought about Snoredog and chuckled. Last night and this morning I've thought about him and others that have meant so much to me on this forum.

Yes, Snoredog treated others with rude abandon, but I also believe he cared that people on the forum 'got it right', that they understood what good therapy was, and how to get it. Sometimes he was right on and in hindsight sometimes he wasn't. What was important was his passion.

Snoredog meant a lot to me. It was he and others, almost exclusively on this forum, that helped me make decisions that led to me receiving excellent therapy. I learned to skip over Snoredog's more crude and rude posts and glean the best of him from the others.

I appreciate forum members and any effort anyone takes to share their information in whatever way they choose. I appreciate Johnny and others at CPAP.com for allowing the freestyle of this forum that has developed over the years.

I'll just go munch on some cookies and have a glass of milk now and think good thoughts about Snoredog.

Ahh, Gasp! So gooooood to see your name and avatar and post! Thanks for the memories about ole SnoreDog. He was such an ornery, loveable, helpful ole fart. I do even now still miss him. There was no one I had more fun being picked on by or picking on than SnoreDog.

Snoredog was surely one of a kind. Many a time I laughed out loud from reading his posts, and sometimes, I just cringed. He gave his heart and soul to this forum. His heart may have given out on him, but his soul remains with all of us that he helped.

Rest in Peace, Snoredog.

I remember reading SnoreDog's posts when I first found this forum. I was very sad to hear of his death. RIP, SnoreDog.

Hey! I'll second that.
I really miss Snoredog too. I have found it nearly impossible to not think of him whenever I visit this forum. Like you said, "One of a kind", most definitely.
He was also one of the greatest assets to this board, no doubt about it. I still have a lot of the private messages that I exchanged with him. Still chuckle when I read them.
Lots of times you meet some really fake people on internet message boards. Not Snoredog! I liked that he wasn't politically correct either , he was a down- to- earth guy.

yeah, Rest in Peace, Snoredog...

My first PM was from Snoredog and I was almost afraid to open it, but he was kind and answered the question I had posted in a few succinct words. I think the reason he responded in a PM was because he wanted to "gently" suggest that next time I should try to compose my questions with not so much unnecessary detail. I didn't have much time with him but he was unforgettable.

Snoredog was the cpaptalk junkyard dog.
He was always on guard and kept us safe.
He said it like he saw it, good or bad, right or wrong.
He believed in putting it all on the table(post it, don't pm it),
so if the information was wrong, many would correct it,
or debate it til it was.

If you were a spammer, he would rip your face off.
"If your therapy is improving your health but you're not doing anything
to see or feel those changes, you'll never know what you're capable of."
I said that.
