Dr. Drew discusses sleep and sleep apnea: http://cnn.com/video/?/video/living/201 ... eeping.hln
Yes, that blue eyed beauty is my cat! He is a seal point, bi-color Ragdoll. I adopted him in '08 from folks who could no longer care for him. He is a joy and makes me smile each and every day.

This was a very basic discussion of insomnia and treating it with sleep restriction and Sleep Apnea. Dr. Drew seemed fixated on the "big apparatus" we have to wear and seemed to know nothing about modern less restrictive masks. The effects of untreated sleep apnea, mainly cardiovascular disease were mentioned, but nothing about symptoms of sleep apnea. Thanks for the link.

Thanks for the link, Emilia. If I hear that correctly, 40 million people have been diagnosed with OSA and it's known that there is 50% failure rate, so are there really 20 million people out there not being treated?

Never been impressed with Dr.Drew especially his Celebrity rehab show. Taken advantage of drug and alcohol addicted washed up rockstars, athletes and actors at their most vulnerable time of life is disturbing to me. RIP Mike Starr of Alice and Chains. It's a shame you could not find others rather than Celebrity rehab to help you cope with your final stages of battle with your illness. I know some people you just can't help but there is never any reason to exploit their deadly disease for ratings on a TV show.

Good equipment and education makes all the difference.
You will never hear that from somebody who is in it for the money.

I was also disturbed by his repeated mention of the "big apparatus" that has to be worn. It will be pretty discouraging to the newly diagnosed who are still scared and processing it and on the fence about the whole thing. Shame on Dr. Drew for not doing his homework for this important segment and for the Sleep Dr he was interviewing for not doing a better job!
