Ive got 3 months with cpap Automatic (Resmed) at level 10. Recently, Ive been having an occasional severe apnea similar to "pre-pap"----leaping out of bed in the middle of the night after having stopped breathing for.....who knows how long? Thankfully, I have Klonopin (1 mg doses) to soothe those times out.
My question deals with my infuriating nightly habit of flipping over onto my back with the mask on, starting to snore, and then occasionally suffering from horrible apneas. I've literally rigged up every "system" I can think of to prevent it, but somehow in a deep sleep I contort myself onto my back and the process starts all over again. Right now, I wear Khahki shorts to bed, and "hook in" each side belt loop to a clip at the end of a rope to try to force stomach sleeping. Im still trying to refine this strategy.
Questions:
1. will Bi-Pap be a solution for me (I wear full face masks due to deviated septum) if I give up and give in to my back sleeping?
2. Will an increased pressure help my current situation?
3. Do those dental devices help anyone stop snoring?
4. Should I consider surgery? (I would use this Charlotte Dentist if I proceeded): http://www.charlotteoralsurgery.com/
Anyone who conquered any of these problems either scientifically or creatively who can help out with this constant problem? I ask around, and there seem to be very few natural "back sleepers" out there. Im starting to consider it my cross to bear in life.
