Do I Need the Humidifier?

Post by F3adventure » Tue May 03, 2011 9:15 pm

Hi gang- I am very new and full of questions.

Tonight's question:

Do I need to use the humidifier with my Resmed VPAP S? By need I mean, does it serve a medical function or is it just an add on luxury item the DME's push to fatten their bottom line? ( I am very surprised they didn't try to sell me an extended warrenty )

Your feedback is appreciated!

Thanks-

It serves a medical function by adding moisture, especially to the nasal mucosa which can easily get dried out and cause misery.
Some people can do without it but most people need at least a little moisture to be comfortable and some people need a lot of moisture. It is a persona choice thing. No way could I used the machine without the added moisture. I forgot to add water one night and I was miserable big time for the next 2 days. It was bad.

But it is your choice and your nose...
