Heated Hose question - On settings

Post by Kanes28 » Sun May 01, 2011 4:49 pm

hey there.

Has a ResMed S9 and I use a Mirage Quattro full face. I was running with slim line tubing at 14cm and humidity set at 4. My 6 month average AHI was about 0.5. Good sleep but wakinng up all dried out. If I raise humidity up past 4 I get rain out.

I received a heated hose and slept with it last night with it set on auto setting at 82 degrees. didnt sleep very good. AHI jumped up to almost 2.0.

can I get some suggestions on settings here based on the info Ive provided?

thanks

For me, it works much better not to have the temp up very high. Room temp is 65 and humidifier at 72. You may need to experiment. I don't have the knowledge to say whether or not it relates to ahi. For me it was comfort and sinus issues.

Good luck

What works for me may not work for you, but FWIW, I've got mine set to manual mode 4.5 and 75°F. This may not be optimal, but it works. I'm being cautious about rainout because I'm still having trouble getting enough sleep and can't afford any extra interruptions.

Pressure 11.6-16.4 cm h20, EPR 3, room temp 60-65°F.

I currently have my ClimateLine heated hose set to manual mode 4.5 and 80°F. I've never had any rainout in the hose, and I keep it at that setting most of the year. I've tried Climate Control in auto mode in the past, but it always felt too dry for me.

Since the weather has warmed up here. I have my climateline hose turned off and I am running on passover only. I may change when it gets warm enough to have AC running all the time. Right now the windows are open cause the weather has been soooo nice.

During the winter months when heat was running I was set at 70-72 degrees on auto with my climateline.
