It's interesting, but not the equivalent of CPAP. Your air pressure will drop to zero during inhalation. It might work for some people.

It's a valve that restricts airflow when you exhale. It's disposable, so you have to keep buying it all the time.

It has been discussed from time to time. Search of the forum post gave me several threads (7 pages to read but many were duplicates). These had the most replies. Some of the replies got sidetracked (nothing new here)

Some discussion back to 2009.

I would like to try it but not enough to go to the doctor for a script.

“It is quite uncomfortable. It is actually not very nice to breathe through the thing. It feels like you can’t breathe out. . . . It is a 50% acceptable result, there’s an additional amount who respond but it is not good enough, and there is a clear number who do not respond at all. . . . It doesn’t work in everybody. . . . It works in some but not others. . . . Don’t get your hopes up. It’s not going to put CPAP out of business.”--David Rapoport, head of NYU Sleep Center, at presentation to Manhattan AWAKE Sleep Apnea Support Group in New York City on May 5, 2010.

Provent seems to work well. It's disposable and I hear some of the insurance companies are paying for it. I found a site www. remedymedicalsupply. com that will take care of getting the prescription from your doctor and will bill your insurance for you.
