How do I increase my pressure

Post by Starlette » Wed Apr 13, 2011 3:57 pm

Hi all.

I tired of dickin' around with this and finally going to heed your suggestions.
When I get home from a doctor's appointment, I would like to increase my pressure from 8 to 9. How do I do that?

Just a matter of turning a few knobs. Let me know if this isn't enough information for you.

Thank you Pugsy. I went from 8 to 8.5. I’ll do it in increments. I’ll start off with that change for a week. However, I think that 9 will be the magical number. I feel like the Freddie Fender song, “Wasted days and wasted nights” (NOTE: Maybe that should be our theme song ). Atm, I just feeling frustrated. I want to have data readings of 0 – 1.7 and I’m not getting it on a consistent basis. 3 out of 3 masks and I can’t get that reading. It’s not like I can wake up in the morning and look at my data reading. If I don’t like what I see go back 6 hours and retweak the situation. For that day, I’m stuck on what I’ve done based upon my decisions/tweaking the night before. *sigh* Enough said. I’ll try this.

Also, when I was in there, I also noticed that the System One resistance rating was at “0”. Yet with the Resperonics Comfort Gel Blue, I get a mask that has x1. *shrug* I don’t know what to think about that.

Dink rant.

I used to drive myself nuts trying to get Mike's AHI under 1.0 as the magic number. After trying all the tweaks I'm finally realizing that I probably can't eliminate all his events and he's usually in the 1.5-2.5 range so now I go by how comfortably he sleeps and how he feels during the day. That's not to say I won't try tweaking again!

Appreciate your kind words DoriC. Honestly, I got all 3 masks at the beginning of March. So, I'm doing the Woman vs. Mask match wanting Woman to win along reading my data (which I've just now started - over a week into it) every morning knowing "exactly" where I stand with each tweak can be rather daunting. However, I'm two years into my cpap. I won't quit now. I'll keep plugging away at this till I hit mask nirvana! *flexes muscles*

When I asked this question a couple of months ago, I got hammered about it being against the law changing the settings. I say it's your health and no one is going to look after you if you don't. I think it's normal to make slight adjustments to find maximum treatment. Sheriff
