Breaking out with the Liberty

Post by dusty0318 » Sun Mar 27, 2011 3:58 am

I'm breaking out on my upper lip right under my nose. Anybody encountered this before and have any suggestions? Should I try to make a cloth liner? Since it's only right under my nose, I would only need to line the top of the mask, right?

Seems to make sense to make very small liner or protection of some sort for the area that is problematic. An old T shirt might do the trick. I think some people's skin are just sensitive to the combination of the mask material and the normal skin oils.

As Pugsy said use a cloth liner. Padacheeks makes liners that last a long time, remzzz makes cloth ones that don't last but a day or two, or you can make your own. Just use an old well washed t-shirt, lay your mask on the cotton and trace around it but add about an inch past your mask all the way round. Cut a very small hole for your mouth and give it a try. I can't stand the feel of the silicone on my skin, so I have liners for all of my masks, Just yesterday I hauled out my old cut up t-shirt (now mask liner material) and cut a couple out for my hybrid....works like a "hot damn". I use padacheeks liners for my quattro and ultra mirage, they are larger and Karens fabric is so much sturdier, just toss them in the washer and they are ready to go.
Good luck
