I would like to apologize for profanity

Post by EricinNC » Thu Mar 24, 2011 1:38 pm

I would like to say this to everyone here who had been offended by my profanity. I apologize. I am not feeling well these days and am indeed a bit angry, Im having trouble getting medical care despite having health insurance. And having trouble tolerating the combination of SSRI plus CPAP pressures. Im not doing well and I was doing well until not too far back.

I admit to being a profane person, its just a habit. I am also highly opinionated. I cannot apologize for that part.

I will not use anymore profanity on this site. I also apologize to anyone I have offended due to the profanity. Im desensitized to profanity, to me its just words. I have a thick skin, a bad temper and like I said, am not feeling good.

But that does not give me the excuse to use profanity if others dont want to hear it. So I wont use it anymore.

Sorry.

Eric

EricinNC,

Apology accepted.

And sincerely hoping that you manage to get some answers to your current medical problems. And even more important, I hope you get some solutions to those current medical problems. And start feeling better real soon.

No worries.

I used to work with a fellow that, I imagine, might have been close to you in personality. He used to play 1st grade rugby and was a LARGE fellow. He had a biting, profane wit, which he used, but it wasn't done with any sort of callousness. To him it was just words and he'd vent his frustration as he saw fit, then just go along as if nothing had happened. Once you got used to it -- and him -- you found he was a good fellow at heart. I think the only person he was afraid of was his missus. I sat next to him and heard his conversations with his 'other half', and he often sounded contrite or apologetic. I only met her once, and said to P. afterwards that she seemed quite a lovely lady, to which he replied, "That's because she sheathed her fangs for you."

Often at our office we considered contributing and sending her a medal for having the courage to marry -- and stay married to - P. Never did, though.

Which SSRI are you using? I cannot verify the truth of what I read, but someone posted recently that some SSRIs worsen OSA. Lexapro was specifically mentioned as one that makes OSA more severe.

Edited: I see you have another discussion going on about the SSRI. No need to reply here.

The profanity doesn't bother me, I worked with engineers and the family were sailors and dock workers, I could out do you in 4 languages, However your attitude is by far the worst thing about you and what you really have to work on.

Apology accepted Eric. Hope you get to feeling better soon. People here will bend over backwards to help one another.
I can attest. I've been a recipient.

Eric, I was very concerned by the strength of feeling behind your strong words. And hopefully I've lived long enough to realise that there was something seriously unhappy going on underneath.

Thank you so much for your courage in posting an apology. I appreciate not only the apology but admire the person who had the strength to make it.

I really hope we can help you through what is a really rough patch for you at the moment.
