Second M series machine dies

Post by JeffH » Tue Mar 22, 2011 8:12 am

This is getting old. These machines only seem to have a useful life of about 2.5 years at my house. My old Sullivan V was still going strong over seven years into its life. No more Respironics machines for me.

And I called the company and they could care less. Just a heads up for anyone thinking of buying one of these machines.

Do you use a power surge protector?

It started acting flaky when I turned C-flex on.

The M Series was NOT one of Respironics shining endeavors. The pre-M Series (the Legacy series, often referred to as "the tank") was a tough, tremendous PAP well-loved by its users. Its too early to say on the PR S1s. Certainly the data reporting via LCD screen is not one of their most brilliant endeavors either, but then Respironics data reporting via the LCD screen never has been particularly good. Definitely a weak spot for them.

Thanks Den, I'll have to check them out. I'm getting another sleep study Monday nite and I'm pretty sure they are going to set me up with a Bi-pap, so I may just use this machine for a door stop. Can't say I wasn't warned by you guys. What a piece of crap machine the M Series is.

How old is this machine? I was told by my DME they are warranteed by the manufacturer for 2 years and would be replaced if a problem, no questions asked. Unfortunately my 2nd one I think just passed the 2 year mark.

Both mine died between year 2 and 3. I've never had one make it to it's third birthday.

BTW, really nice pic!
