Owwie!!!

Post by Flower51 Terry » Sun Jan 01, 2006 5:09 am

when I was due for a new hose, I asked my dme to send me a longer one...she said the longer one is the 8ft hose. Its a beige hose, my standard 6 ft hose was grey. Well....I noticed a very snug fit on both the humidifier and on the connector hookup to my nasalaire headgear. At first I thought, "no problem"....wrong. "Problem" Its so snug that its tough to get apart when I need to take the hose off each morning to "shake out the rain" and dry it off. Also in the middle of the night for bathroom breaks it is really bad news because I have to pull so hard it disengages all the little connectors from my headgear hoses and it hurts my hand. SO the owwie.

Any suggestions? Anyone else have a similar problem? I have a Remstar auto w/heated humidifier. Is there more than one kind of connector w/these hoses so that I may have been sent the wrong one or is the 8ft hose just like this?

Thanks and Happy New Year! Terry

There are small plastic snap fit connetors that are made just for this purpose.

I broke 2 hoses before I woke up to the benefits of

1) the plastic hose end connector (allows for easy connect to xPAP & h/h nozzels)
2) the snap fit pair of connectors (allows quick disconnect of hose from tube - there are 2 parts to this quick disconnect connector)

I am not sure of cost but they have to be very cheap.

PS my Activa mask had a set of the quick disconnect hose end connectors.
