Hello people
I have been to a ENT dr to due with my tempermental sinuses as I had alot of blood noses from my tubinate reduction that was done 2 yrs ago , I had my nose caultrized at least 4 times already.
The Dr rekon my tubinates are getting dried out because of my CPAP she told me to put vasline up my nose inside on the tubinates to stop em cracking and bleeding. As i got alot of blood clots from past bleeds still healing inside my nose.
I think I have drivent he ENT clinic and their Dr.s crazy, they do not want to deal with me anymore! As they have had a hard time fixing up my nose and my blood nose issues. Plus I accidently messed up their wards after I had the operation done, they didn't like that at all.....OOps not my fault that I sneeze alot at night! I warned em about my sneezing at certin time of the day but they didn't pay attenditon.
Now I sleep well with CPAP. The gave me electric caultrizing in my nose to fix it but it hurt like crazy!!!! They told me that they didn't want to see me anymore! Quite franky, I think I made em work too hard for their pay![so I think!] They do not want to deal with me anymore.....
I guess in the end they got so fed up they ended up putting me in the too hard basket. It's Not my fault that I got a buggered up nose!!!
[ I guess the vasline is to deal with the drying effect CPAP in my nose.]

My Dr. ENT clinic
Hi Papper
Believe it or not, the dr who told me to stick vasline up my nose on my sinuses is a ENT Dr!!!! She know that I am on CPAP. I stuck vasline up me nose last night, fortuantly it didn;t go down my lungs.
All she told me to apply a small amount with a cotton bud a small flim on the inside of my nose. So far my nose is okay....I am not getting a vasline taste on the back of my throat. so It's okay so far......

I have a question...................
Have you ever tried Instant Ocean for your dry nose?
That seems to be a better idea that the vaseline.
You can use it in addition to the humidifier.
Good luck!

Dry Sinuses
Snuffle-Nose,
I, too, have a terrible time with my sinuses drying out. I highly recommend the heated humidifier. I have had mine for a couple of years now and it works great. It will take a little time to find what setting is comfortable for you. Works for me!

heated humidification
Snuffle, so sorry to hear what you are going through. I agree with papper and "guest" that using a heated humidifier for your cpap machine might help you a lot. I don't have your nasal problems, but I use a Fisher & Paykel HC 150 heated humidifier and love it. I also have the Aussie heated hose from http://www.sleepzone.com.au to use along with my heated humidifier. The heated hose works great! It prevents "rainout" due to warm moist air condensing into water droplets as humidified air travels through a cold hose - even a "covered" hose.
