CPAP without Sleep Study

Post by OHENRY » Tue Jan 18, 2011 5:09 pm

Has anyone ever heard of a doctor giving a patient a Cpap macine without any kind of sleep study? What are the risks?

Chances are pretty darn slim. And if you're hoping for insurance coverage, a PSG or some sort of study is usually necessary in order to prove diagnosis of OSA.

If you're not looking for insurance coverage and don't want to do a sleep study, why don't you just buy an auto titrating machine from Craigslist? They come up often in my locale, so they probably do in yours too.
