Overnight pulse ox tonight...

Well, I went to go pick up my little gadget today for tonight. I forgot to ask how long it will take to get the results from my doctor, I am guessing within a week or so...I am just hoping no bad numbers come back, like i need more issues ...I have been having a lot of anxiety problems again lately and its even affecting my driving this go round and of course feel like I cant breathe as it is because of that my asthma is bad cause of the weather changing and all. Not to mention, CPAPing has been hell the past few nights as I have had a cold I swear, sometimes breathing doesnt seem worth it lol. I know I am whining and complaining and it could be sooo much worse but geez do I ever get a break?! My parents arent much help, my dad is on cpap but he is the one who thinks oh well its ok to skiop every third night on cpap while he is at the fire station, I cant make him understand the need to sleep with it EVERY night...and he wonders why he feels bad...and of course they dont deal well with my anxiety anymore and anytime I get upset or have an attack they roll their eyes and my dad (who WAS the very supportive one) tells me he has enough probs to deal with to get over it...If only it was that simple They think I dont even need to do the pulse ox thing overnight that I am fine, they also said there was no way I had sleep apnea at my age and well the test proved them wrong so I gotta look after ME now...I am not saying my o2 levels are dropping but because they arent sure I would rather find out now than later...

Well, sorry I rambled on, I guess I just needed to vent some...

Edited to add: Ok I lost all my picture programs when my hard drive died back in Sept I D/Led a free program someone told me about to resize and crop photos, well I can crop them lol...Is there anyone would would be willing to let me email them a pic that you could get to 80x80 and under 6 mb? that I can use for my avatar...I am sooo frustrated with it...I got it to 80x80 but cant get it under 6mb's...Anyone?

Miss A,

I did one over a weekend, back in July (I used 2 recorders, one for each night).
When I took the devices back to the DME on Monday, she downloaded the data and gave me a copy while I waited.....and sent another to the doctor.
Maybe they can do that for you, too.

sometimes just loading it to MS Paint and saving it as a .GIF will shrink it to the necessary size. this forum accepts .gifs

Sorry to hear you're having a rough time lately. E me. Also, send the photo and I'll resize it for you. We haven't caught up in a couple of weeks anyway, so I'm waiting for my installment. We'll talk. In the meanwhile, try and stay calm. Last thing you need right now is an anxiety attack.

The results of my pulse ox were ready for me the next day. It shouldn't even take a week. But I guess it depends on how nice/fast the DME is you're working with who gave you the "gadget" and how fast they are willing to get the results to your doctor. I used to get along great with this DME, so he told me the results when he wasn't supposed to (shhh). I am a bit of a hound when it comes to test results, so I tend to get them rather quickly. I'd rather be a pain and have results than to be quiet and wait till they're good and ready.

Hey you all thanks for the responses...Lori, I hadnt checked the replys and Ric had emailed me about the pic and I checked my email first so I sent it to him, don't think I dont love ya any less lol... Ohhh and I will email you tomm with an installment of 'Life with Heather'...

As far as getting the results back, they are being nice enough to let me keep it til wednesday and my dad will take it back cause he works right down the street from there. We live 45 mins from there and I have been having bad attacks while driving lately. I have to have my car inspected at 8am and if I feel ok when I am done with that I might just go ahead and take it back myself and see if they will download it and give me a copy. That would be cool! I just guessed at a week. Took them longer than that at my doc's office to get the sleep study results so I figured it would take about a week but who knows. I am hoping since Dr. P ordered the pulse ox thingy that he will be the one to call me about it instead of my Dr I normally was seeing as I want to switch to Dr P...Will keep ya'll all updated and thanks again for letting me vent...

Heather,

This is far simpler than having to analyze the results of a sleep study, so it takes a lot faster. These machines print out what they need to see right from the data it records so it doesn't take long to get results. They actually had them the next morning, and they picked mine up from my house the afternoon after the night I used it. So it's quick.

Will be waiting for my installment. And I'm glad Ric helped you out with the photo. Will be looking for your new avatar.
