need some help with full face mask

Post by pbsd » Thu Dec 30, 2010 10:04 am

Hi All,

I am finishing up my second week on the cpap and I am having some trouble with my full face mask. I am using the Comfort Full 2.

I can get a good seal but I am paranoid about the strap being on to tight especially the bottom strap. So I loosen the strap and can get a good seal but it doesn't last long. Moisture from the humidifier gets between the mask and my face and creates leaks. So, I don't know if I should retighten the straps, or if there is another solution to help with the moisture. I did do a search on this forum and didn't find anything. As always, thanks in advance for any help.

Happy New Year:)!

Moisture in your mask usually means you need to search ou the word "rainout".
Make sure your machine is lower than your head and that your hose runs down...water runs down, if your hose is routed from an up position it will run down into your mask. Also search "hose management". There are many good suggestions and "fixes" on these searches.
Good luck
Started cpap in 2010.. still at it with great results.

You might try a product called Rem-zzz's; if the moisture is not from rainout, but from your face.
--or a home-made version cut from a well-worn old t-shirt.
Good luck, and welcome.

If you want to solve the problem with a cost effective solution try using a Quietus Cloth re-usable CPAP mask liner. All your leak problems will disappear. Good luck
