1st of all wanted to say I hope everyone had and is having a happy holiday.
About 3 months back i went to a full face quattro. I could not seem to get a handle on the snoring. That seemed to work well for a while then the snoring started to come back. Probably due to some weight gain. I jacked the pressure from 13 to 14. That seemed to help. But then slowly it seems to have returned some what . I have a cold now and i am sure that is exasperating the problem. My wife said she was back to elbowing me. Is it normal to snore when you have a cold if your pressures are correct? the full face should compensate by using mouth breathing?
I am not sure if i should jack the pressure more.
After the holidays I will probably have to head back and get re-titrated
Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks

I think all bets are off when you have a cold. Your airways are congested and irritated. Even people without apnea might snore in that situation. If your AHI's are OK, I wouldn't make too many changes, just give it a week or two for the cold symptoms to subside. Maybe elevating your head will help.
Can your wife put up with snoring temporarily or perhaps one of you sleep elsewhere for a few nights? I thought my husband was going to abandon ship last night because of my coughing, but the Quattro muffles the sound a little.

Re: Quattro cold snoring
I asked her if she wanted me to sleep on the couch ad she said no. So I guess it is not so bad she cant sort of deal with it. I just feel bad if i am waking her.

Re: Quattro cold snoring
I'm also suffering from a cold with all the bells and whistles. I actually feel better using my Quattro. DH said he didn't hear any snoring only heavy coughing. I AM miserable during the day. My AHI was 1.8, but my Periodic Breathing was at 2% and it's usually at 0%! Can coughing cause this to increase?

Re: Quattro cold snoring
Snoring is what got me evicted, for sure. But, since I've been a hoser, the wife can't take the hissing of the exhaust from the mask or the slight whirring noise the machine makes. Been evicted and sleeping in another bedroom for going on four years now Very depressing.
