First SPO2 levels, these don't sound too bad maybe?

Post by islandboy5150 » Wed Dec 29, 2010 9:40 pm

I got my CMS-50F pulse oximeter and got my first night of recorded data. I had 30 "events" which were at least a 4% drop for at least ten seconds. A couple of times I dropped under 80, once down to around 74. Eight were down to 90 or so. The rest was down to around 91. My average hovered around 94 plus or minus a couple %. Daytime average is around 94 too. I guess these numbers aren't so bad....right? As soon as I can figure out how to post my graph, you can see what I'm trying to explain. Hope my verbage gets the idea across for now, though.

You need to take a close look at your data and make sure your desaturations are not the result of a temporary lost signal artifact.

I believe the goal is to eliminate all desaturations below 90%.

It's a start.

Most here would not be satisfied. You don't say how long the desats lasted, but crusher is right. Less than 90% is not good.

However, it is possible that the desats are artifacts due to movement. If you can post an image of the report, someone here can help with that.

Here is a table that shows oxygen saturation levels during sleep for healthy people of differing ages.
