Might be time for you to care for you

But hopefully this will take care of itself.

Howdy All,

The Headrest remains widely available and we expect it will for a long time to come.

The Everest 3 machines, cells and batteries in stock now are likely the last that will be available ever. If you want them, buy now.

Disclaimer: I have no management or operational relationship with AEIOmed and am not a spokesman for them in any way. My comments are made as a participant and observer of the CPAP market.

Thank You for your comments Johnny. Now I need to find out why my DME has told the VA the Headrest is no longer available.

I do see you have some but the last time I asked them to buy from cpap.com they treated me like I had leprosy. Oh the helpful DME's.

UPDATE: I have been in direct contact with Aeiomed and the short story is the Headrest Mask and nasal seals are in fact still available. I was told the only thing affected were the cpaps.

Unfortunately, for me, anyone who has anything to do with why I was told that Nutmeg Respiratory (Rotech) cannot supply me with another Headrest mask does NOT work on Fri. so hopefully this will be sorted out on Mon. and will boil down to assumptions incorrectly made on someones part.

This is a revolting development.

Of course, it will come as no surprise to anyone that APRIA says they can't get either mask or pillows "because of the fire." Last time it was "because it can't be ordered."

Get a number for Howard to call..... it worked for me

In fact, I haven't checked that link to see what it say now, but those reading it were seeing what they wanted to see.

Thank you. I had literally stopped breathing, holding my breath until I read your post confirming that the Headrest is indeed not going away (self-induced apnea, wouldn'tchaknow ). I don't know what I'll do if they ever stop making it! Whew.

EDIT: Wait, I just looked at the aeiomed site, as posted earlier in the thread, and the letter says Headrest will be available "while supplies last." That would seem to indicate they aren't making any more, no? Now I'm confused...

Being in the automotive parts business, I have a "sense" that tells me when one of my vendors is about to "crash and burn".

Just to be on the safe side, I bought a "lifetime supply" of the Aeiomed products that I use.

What, for you, defines "a life time supply"?

He's the guy who posted the message at http://www.aeiomed.com

While it is addressed to "Dealers and Sales Reps" - most of them didn't read it either it seems. So I called Howard and asked him to read it to my DME

Kiralynx..........

For me, the definition of "life-time supply" is three complete masks....and three extra nose pieces. Using my mechanical abilities and Rested Gal's ideas on modifications, I ought to be able to stretch the life of all that gear to about 30-years.....and that'd take me to my hundredth year.

I haven't seen any other mask that works better for me....so investing a few hundred is rational....especially if Glenn Beck is right and "the-world-as-we-know-it" goes away.

I simply don't want my health adversely affected by a factory going out of business.....or economic calamity....or both.

My current Headrest was bought mid July and going strong. I recently changed nasal pillow - the first one was twisted, bent and configured for 'better' fit. In retrospect, didn't have to do anything as the second one fits like a glove.

I also have another complete Headrest set as backup with two extra nasal pillows. I figure that's good for about 18-24 months. A third Headrest set is due as part of my March 2011 replenishment.

But, as noted in earlier posts, Aieomed will continue with production and supply of the Headrest, so not to worry.

Well, I have to agree with you -- I don't want my health adversely affected by not having the mask which has come to be my favorite available. I could go back to my original Comfortlite 2, but it's bulkier, and I have as much trouble getting the direct seals for the CL2 which work best for me from Apria as I do anything connected with the Headrest.

Since I've only been on my Bipap ASV for two years and two months, I don't have a feel for how long masks and nasal pillows can be coaxed along to work, other than the fact that my current Headrest is about 20 months old.

<g> I notice that CPAP.COM is now making the Adam Circuit. Be nice if Johnny could pick up the designs for the Headrest and Everest...
