OT Views of Christmas Day along the Ft. Range in Colorado

Post by carbonman » Sat Dec 25, 2010 11:52 pm

My Christmas day started with a quiet walk at the lake w/Sage.
Image
It was a cold, crisp morning. Quiet. Everyone at home doing the present thing.
In the morning light, the FlatIrons and Meeker/Longs peak in all their beauty.
Image

As soon as it warmed a bit, I got what I wanted for Christmas....65miles on my bike.
I rode the Bear Ck loop that goes from the west side of the city,
down along the S. Platte river in the inner city and back home.

From the top of Carbon Mt., Bear Ck Lake and Mt. Morrison.

At the base of Mt. Morrison, Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

Looking east at the Denver skyline.
Image
...and when I got to my favorite rest spot, a Christmas feast.
Image
...and after a meal like that, nothing better than relaxing in the sun.
Image
What better way to end the day than a trip to the zoo....a different kind of zoo.

To close the night, a tradition from my childhood, a stop at the City / Count bld.

to see or feel those changes, you'll never know what you're capable of."
