CPAP Masks and Beards

Post by crazycarl864 » Sat Dec 25, 2010 10:02 pm

I have been using a Mirage Swift (original) nasal pillow mask since I first started using my CPAP 4 years ago. I have managed to make the mask last this long though it's pretty much disintegrating now. I was just going to purchase the newer Mirage Swift II, but then I saw the Hybrid nasal pillow/full mask and thought that might be a good upgrade. My biggest concern though, is that I like to keep my beard pretty long, and I was wondering if anyone has any experience using different masks with beards.

I have a short beard and mustache and the Hybrid would not work for me. But I also have a funny chin. Not quite Dick Tracy or Jay Leno but it is not flat. I could not get the leaks to stop. However there are a few on this forum with beards that do use that mask. Have you been to your DME to try the mask?
