Which mask do you LOVE?

I'm new to the community, but I've been on the hose for about 5 years. My doctor retired 3 years ago and I've been on my own with my apnea - can't remember now who he referred me to. Lately, I just don't feel rested. I'm going to make an appt with a new doctor and get back on track. I loved the Breeze but my provider tells me that it's no longer available. I'm currently using the Swift LT for Her but don't like the marks it leaves on the sides of my face (I sleep on my side or stomach). The mask I got with my sleep study long ago covered my entire nose and leaked unless I was on my back. I definitely prefer the nasal pillows. Any suggestions? I'm not sure what's available. Which mask do you LOVE???

Are you sure the Breeze is not available? Ask questions - who told them this?

I recently ran into that with my DME, it turns out they were wrong and I got my mask.

Take a look at the Swift FX. It is a nasal pillow mask and it is all silicone, no hard plastic parts. It's extremely comfortable. They make a Swift FX for Her which is a little smaller--I guess we women are expected to have smaller heads. Used with the enclosed headgear covers or a PadaCheek cover, there will be no red marks because there is nothing hard enough to cause a red mark. I like to call it "the next best thing to sleeping naked"

The mask is a little bit fiddly at first. Because it's so soft, the weight of it's attached hose can pull the pillows right out of your nose. Sewing some velcro hook tape inside the back strap (UFO13's idea) and using a hose hanger help to make the mask more stable.

If you don't want to have to buy a whole other mask, you might take a look at padacheek's products, as one of her covers can probably prevent the LT headgear from causing the red marks if that's your only complaint.

Gumby - I think that they meant that THEY no longer provide it. I can get it on line but I'd like to try something comparable that my insurance would pay for. Nearly half my salary goes to insurance - I want to use it when I can!

Jan - I'm using the Swift LT For Her now and you're right about the least amount of movement pulling it loose. Is the LX different? I'd love to know more about the velcro idea, please.

I use the swift LT for her with the covers that come with the mask. I never had marks on my face and I am a side stomach sleeper. Its my primary mask. I did have to go up a size on my nasal pillows. I started with extra small. I found the small fit much better. My secondary mask is Full Life full face.

I know it looks like the fuzzy side of the velcro from the photo, but you want to use the stiffer hook side, not the fuzzy soft side.

It works the same for the Swift FX (BTW, it's FX, NOT LX)

Even though your DME doesn't carry the Breeze for display / sale purposes for newer patients, why can't they order it for you since you are comfortable and compliant with it and you require no further service from them (sizing, fitting, etc)? After all, your insurance carrier still pays for it, don't they?
