cpap mask

I have been using a cpap machine for 4 years, and I have had the same type of mask, (nasal ( not the nostril type) for 3 1/2 years and got along great with it. I ordered a new one and was told that this one replaces the one that I have always used. It was on the same order as the old one but had a few differences such as more air holes for air and the tube that came from the machine went directly into the mask. I thought this might be good so I tried it. I gave it 3 weeks and every morning that I woke up with a dry throat and tongue. I called them they suggested that I turn up the humidity on my machine. So I spent 1 week gradually changing the humidity. I called back again and they felt like maybe the temp in the room was causing the moisture in the tube to dry out before getting to the mask. They said I should wrap a towel around the tube and not let it rest on the floor and to pin it to my pajamas. Like a fool I tried that and still didn't work. Then my throat got so dry that there was blood when I rinsed my mouth after just getting out of bed. That has happened several days. I called back yesterday to tell them about it, and they were going to call the supplier to see if something was wrong with the mask. The supplier had told them I should check with my doctor for polyps in my nose or throat. I just had a check up in September with my ENT and had the scope up my nose and down my throat and things looked very good. Her last reply was that she would call them back and see what else they recommended. I also use a chin strap to keep my mouth from opening. Does anyone have any suggestion to what I do next or if you have had a problem like this.

It would help a lot if you would please tell us what mask you were using before and what mask you now have!

A lot of people say the chin straps don't work as well as they'd like, plus they can't keep your lips from opening, so either try taping for a few nights and/or try a full face mask.
