Cpap not working/keeping me from sleeping

Post by LARS929 » Fri Nov 12, 2010 12:30 am

I have been using my machine since mid August, and it has done nothing for me. I am just as tired now as I was before starting. I noticed the other day I fight my tubes throughout the night and just never fall asleep completely. Since I recognized it, I notice it happening every night. 2 nights ago I went without the machine for the first time, and I slept better than I had with the machine. No mid night wake ups at all. I still felt like crap throughout the day though so I know I actually did not sleep well.

Has anyone had this happen? I am wondering if there is any way to rig the tube or something to make it better.

Another possibility could be that the mask is just not right for you, e.g. if you end up mouth breathing while asleep, you'll lose all the Cpap air that way, and might consider trying a full face mask instead that allows you to breathe that way, but not lose the air to the outside. Try taping for a couple of nights (do a forum Search on taping) to see if it makes a difference.

Have you tried Diprivan or Propofol? It is a fantastic sleep aid that really does the job quick. It may be kind of difficult to get though, you may have to fake a prescription for it or perhaps just buy it black market. Good luck!

You and gvz hang out in chat and conspire to post weird stuff to this board. And then try to delete stuff when you get busted. Apnea is not a game or a joke. The people that make it to this board are the lucky ones. Many go undiagnosed. Posting stupid drunken posts to this board might be funny to you, but sober up and realize that the "fun" you're having could very well be at the expense of another person's life.

Grow up.

GVZ has nothing to do with anything. Apnea is not a joke, but this board is. If you really want to make a REAL difference then why not get involved in the REAL world?
