Windows 7 64 Bit

Post by SleepyBobR » Mon Nov 08, 2010 9:17 am

Quick question here for the techies among us.

I am upgrading from Vista to Windows 7 Home Premium. I'd like to move to the 64 bit version but am unsure of compatibility. I run ResScan 3.10.006 and have the ResMed card reader for use with my Elite II. Has anyone done this and can verify that ResScan runs with 64 bit Windows and that the 64 bit drivers are available for the card reader.

Same issue with my CMS50E Pulse-Ox meter. Is there a 64 bit driver available and will the SPO2 Review reporting s/ware run in 64 bit?

I have tried unsuccessfully to answer these questions on the web.
Thanks all for any insights.

G'day Bob,

I'm fairly sure this will work, as i have Win 7 Ultimate 64bit and run 32 bit programs.
There are 2 Program Folder, one with the (X86) extension, being the one for 32 bit.
I'm no expert, but spend a lot of time on sevenforums, THE best forum for Windows 7, like cpaptalk is THE best forum for cpap.
In the beginning, 64 bit software and drivers were a bit on the lean side. Now they are everywhere.

Anytime i add software to my comp, it works itself out where it needs to go, not having had a problem at all.

Just type "sevenforums" in your search engine and it will be there right on top.

Hope this helps.

Jon

I've been running both ResScan 3.xx, including the S8 card reader, and SP02 on Windows Ultimate x64 for over a year now without any problems.

Cheers,

Bill

I can verify that ResScan 3.xx runs on Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium and Professional. Plain vanilla install.

I have Windows 7 x64 running now and I installed ResScan 3.11.009 with the card reader connected. The very last message I received before the program quit was "unsupported platform" (referring to the card reader). Any thoughts on what I did wrong or what to do?

Edit: I figured it out. It's working now. Thanks all.

Your are getting the message because the drivers for the Card Reader like for the S8 are 32 bit. If you are using the special smart card reader for the S8 I just cancel out of the last part of the installation and let my Windows 7 64 bit find the driver while connected to the internet. If you are using a S9 which uses a standard card you do not have to install a special driver from the software.

UPDATE: Just saw you got it to work.
