Got my Resmed Card Reader

I finally got the Resmed card reader and I was a bit concerned because of the explosive packages that were sent from Yemen. This reader came from Israel and if you need anything you can go directly to tamarcohen on cpaptalk.com as he is very reliable and the mailing took only about a week as it was mail on October 26th.

Now I have a few questions.

1. If I slid the card into the vpap auto 25 two days ago, can I do it again without losing any information that is already on the card?

2. Encore had a huge problem reporting on the most recent night's results. Is that true for the Resmed software too?

3. What is the most current Reslink software for the Vpap Auto 25?

My thought is that if you saved all the previous data from the other card on your computer, when you open the software and download the information on the new card, the information should be seamless. Or did I miss something?

1 : I would not rely on the card to store data, just save it using ResScan each time you download it

No, you didn't miss anything. I probably did because once the data is in there, in the database, it can be accessed any way you want, even a week made up of three days from one card and four from another. As you so clearly said, seamless is the key. Thanks Alan

I think I get it but here is another question. I had another flow generator a few weeks ago but Resmed swapped it out. I gave the DME the card and the RT got me a report for the last of 10 months that I had it. I want to see what happened from the beginning of last December. Should I create another patient for that first machine or read the card information into the database of the new card? If yes, should I wait and do the old one first?

The card has no patient information stored on it. The card data is associated with a particular patient when a patient is opened just before downloading. So as long as the dates of the data on the cards do not overlap (and they shouldn't), you can continue to use the same patient for downloads from the new card.

The data card on your machine (S8 VPAP 25) stores only 1 day of detail level data, but has 6 months of summary data. So, if you want to see the detail level every day, you need to copy the data card into the RedMed software every day. When you upload your data, let it "overwrite". That causes it to read everything on the card, but data that is older than what is on the card is left intact (giving you the historical data). The data is copied to the card when you insert the card into the machine. As a result, I leave the card out of the machine, and only insert it when I want to get the recent data to view on my computer.

This one day of detail data is a pain in the butt. My M-Series BiPAP Auto has several days of detail level data on the card, which is far more convenient, but the ResMed seems to track more data and at a more detail level, which can be far more useful.

So if I put the SD card in my laptop and view the info, without creating a patient or downloading--just viewing--does it erase data on the card?
