just back after a 2-week trip with S9

I left the H5i Humidifier at home, I guess sleeping in Florida - there will be no need for a humidifier and I am right

My previous trips were with M series and PR System One, so this is new experience. Just slip the S9 into my backpack together with my netbook.
No problem with TSA in Houston and Orlando, only on the way back, the TSA lady insisted on more detail checking I let her did her job. I do not stick any medical device labelling to my backpack and no question asked by anybody.

I am glad that this worked out for you. I don't find the humidifier to be any additional hassle, so I always take it with me. I did nearly ruin my machine once when I forgot to empty it out before packing it up. I guess that cannot happen if you leave it at home.

How was Orlando? I was down there in February to see the Space Shuttle. Orlando looked like a neutron bomb had gone off--the buildings were still there, but there were no people. I went to a Ponderosa for the pig-out buffet, and there was only one other person in the place. 2 years earlier, the line was out to the street at this place.

I think it depends on what you are use to. I live is south florida and while it is extremely humid on most days, I still have to use my humidifier. I had a malfunctioning humidifer and within 2 days my mouth was so dry that my tongue split open.

Im going to a a very hot humid place in two weeks, I was thinking of taking my humidfier so I could put ice in it..

did the tsa people change their icky dirty gloves to expect your machine?

I have my little med tags on the bag already..

elena88, ice in the humidifier is a new one for me- let us know how that works. When I went to Mobile, AL the humidity is so much higher than here is Norfolk, Va I had to turn it way down. Don't think I would want to go without.

Glad the two week trip with the S-9 went well. That's a new one- just sticking it in your backpack.

Glad to hear the s9 survived the trip in your backpack. My s9 looks so fragile I would be afraid to do that.

I live in the Tampa Bay area of Fl, and have not used my humidifier except in pass-over mode. If we get cold enough that I have to put heat on this winter, I'll probably turn it ON then.....

My S9 + H5i has now been on a couple of dozen trips, both international and domestic, with me since I bought it and is no worse for wear from the experience.

Jweeks: yes, I visited Orlando, JFK Space Center, Tampa, Clearwater, Palm Bay etc. The weather was very warm and humid so I am glad I left the humidifier H5I home where it belong. I cannot believe how warm and sunny Florida was at this time of the year. Orlando look busy and we even got trapped in several traffic jams. Gas was cheaper there, $2.66 per gallon

I made a CPAP check list before leaving home at 4 AM in the morning:
1. power bar
2. power cable
3. 2 masks
4. micropro tape
etc etc and made sure they were all in my backpack before leaving home

stevesgrl98: you are right. The weather in my place is 40-50 degree and rainy while Florida is 80-90 and sunny all the time...

elena88: I did not really see the TSA lady changed her gloves and I forgot to ask, I was too busy making sure my pant stay in place after loosing my belt and then busily looking for my shoes and netbook. Travelling is no more fun these days unless you travel naked through airports

my backpack is the very soft one and very very light, made by Nike. My dear Bosee QC1 noise cancceling headphone was destroyed (the left and right handle were broken) by the sheer pressure - putting netbook, S9 and trinkets together in a tight space. However the S9 is in great shape and perform normally.
