I am just wondering if he overfilled the humidifier? I am planning on buying the S9, I can't believe that this is a problem - has to be user error/ignorance???

Neither does mine. I'm also guessing that it is overfilled.

This is NOT a design flaw. It is simply a function of UNIMPEDED high-volume airflow (due to no tubing & mask) that causes the water surface area to become disturbed. Subsequently, the water is picked up by the high velocity airstream and pushed out the port. Duh.
You could post similar "problems" with other appliances that are not being used as intended. Perhaps putting a hand into a running blender? Using an iron to eliminate wrinkles on your shirt - while wearing the shirt? Where's Ralph Nader when you need him?

“Ignorance” is not pejorative; it is simply a lack of information. “Stupidity” is an inability to utilize available information.

Nope must be ignorance of the user then. Duh. Thanks ignorant1!ignorant1 wrote:This is NOT a design flaw. I use the S9. The only time I ever had problem with rain out is when I overfilled the chamber. Love the machine nice and quiet.

Re: Disturbing S9 Video
I think it was overfilled also and I'm sure the pressure was maxed out for the video. the one thing I did notice was the water pitcher had a lot of condensation on it so I am sure the water was Ice cold. I also noticed the light on the humidifier was red so it was heating up with no water container in it so lot of factors there to spray water out. you have to decide for yourself I have never had rain out luckily so far.

My S9 doesn't do that. I have had no problems at all with the machine, the masks however, that's another story.
Re: Disturbing S9 Video
Amazing! No problems here with S9. I think I have the same coffee pot though. It wasn't filled with coffee was it?
