I'll throw this out so those with more cpap experience than I might chime in: I have been on cpap for about two months now and have developed a puffy, itchy red rash on my cheekbones. There is also a dime-sized patch on the side of my nose. It may be the rash goes all the way from cheekbone to cheekbone, but I can't really tell for sure.
What puzzles me is I use the Swift LT for Her, so there's no mask contact on those areas. I wash the nasal pillows daily, and the fleece strap covers weekly.
I have done nothing else new besides cpap. Same laundry detergent, same body wash, etc.
Has anyone else had this?
Puffy rash on cheeks, no mask contact
Re: Puffy rash on cheeks, no mask contact
it suggest an allergy to something, I would soak mask and airhose and headgear in warm water with mild detergent then rinse
australian, anxiety and insomnia, a CPAP user since 1995, self diagnosed after years of fatigue, 2 cheap CPAPs and respironics comfortgell nose only mask. not one of my many doctors ever asked me if I snored
Re: Puffy rash on cheeks, no mask contact
Thanks, I already wash my nasal pillows every day, the fleece strap covers once a week, and the whole headgear once a month. Short of being allergic to the material the nasal pillows are made from - which would not be unheard of - I don't know what else to do.harry33 wrote:it suggest an allergy to something, I would soak mask and airhose and headgear in warm water with mild detergent then rinse
I'm making an appointment with a dermatologist tomorrow.
