Same problem as some. Machine makes to much noise to alow me to fall alseep. Have tried to use it for years, Useing a mouthpiece made by dentist presently to hold open passage. Do not get sleepy during day and seldom snore but 2 tests indicated I needed a machine.

I'm puzzled by posts saying the machine noise keeps them awake. My machine itself is VERY quiet. I don't even hear it. What I DO hear is my breath in and out, conducted through the tubing, but the machine itself is nearly silent. I have to pull my mask away from my face in the middle of the night to make sure it's still on!

If your machine itself is making noise, you either have an inferior machine, one that's in need of repair, bad leaks, or need a cozy for the hose to cut down on the conducted sound of your own breathing.

If you log in and fill in the profile with your machine/humidifier combo , there are many experts on here who will definitely have some good advice.

You say you "have tried to use it for years"--you should know that CPAP machines and masks are VASTLY improved in the last few years, so it may be time for new equipment and a committment to make it work this time.

New machines are very quiet--24 decibels or so. A fan in your room is louder (and will cover up the noise if it still bothers you).

Don't ignore two tests. You may not recognize the symptoms of apnea, or they may not be immediately noticeable (like high blood pressure because of apnea), but you are still damaging your health by going without proper treatment.

Talk to your doctor about getting a new machine (insist on a data capable machine that will tell you how EFFECTIVE the therapy is, not just compliance data) and start using it.
