*** Medical Disorder Treatment Apparatus Developed by Inventors ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 20 -- Five inventors have invented an apparatus for the treatment of a medical disorder. The U.S. Patent was issued on Oct. 12 (No. 7,810,496). The co-inventors are John Fiore, Monroeville, Pa., Douglas M. Mechlenburg, Murrysville, Pa., Heather Ressler, New Alexandria, Pa., Jeff Kepler, Pittsburgh, and Mark C. Estes, Sylmer, Calif.
An abstract of the invention, published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, states: "A system including methods and apparatus for treatment of a medical disorder such as obstructive sleep apnea or congestive heart failure. The system involves applying a gain to flow rate of pressurized gas delivered to a patient during inspiratory and/or expiratory phases of a respiratory cycle to deliver the pressurized gas in proportion to the respective gains during inspiration and/or expiration. A base pressure may be applied in addition to the gain-modified pressures and an elevated pressure profile may be employed to assist or control inspiration. The system may be fully automated responsive to feedback provided by a flow sensor that determines the estimated patient flow rate. A leak computer can be included to instantaneously calculate gas leakage from the system. The system may be utilized in connection with conventional continuous positive airway pressure treatments, such as CPAP or bi-level positive airway pressure equipment to effect various beneficial treatment applications." The patent was assigned to RIC Investments LLC, Wilmington, Del. The application was filed on Oct. 29, 2007 (No. 11/926,867), and the document is available at: http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Pars ... +AND+IS/PA **

Ventilatory Control System Developed by Inventors ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 20 -- Three inventors have invented a ventilatory control system. The U.S. Patent was issued on Oct. 12 (No. 7,810,497). The co-inventors are Erik K. Witt, Murrysville, Pa., Stephen D. Pittman, Brookline, Mass., and Stefanida K. Blake, Jamacia Plain, Mass.
An abstract of the invention, published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, states: "A system is provided for delivering a flow of breathing gas to an airway of a patient. The system includes a pressurizing flow module that generates a pressurized flow of breathing gas and a patient circuit coupled to the pressurizing flow module configured to communicate the flow of breathing gas to an airway of a patient. The system includes a sensor for monitoring a characteristic of a breathing pattern of the patient a controller that communicates with the sensor configured to increase a fraction of inspired carbon dioxide if the characteristic exceeds an upper threshold value and to provide servo-ventilation if the characteristic is less than a lower threshold value. The upper threshold value and the lower threshold value are changed based on the monitored characteristic of the breathing pattern of the patient." The patent was assigned to RIC Investments LLC, Wilmington, Del. The application was filed on March 8, 2007 (No. 11/715,726), and the document is available at: http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Pars ... +AND+IS/PA ***

*** Therapeutic Pillow Using Method Developed by Inventor ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 20 -- An inventor has invented a method for using a therapeutic pillow. The U.S. Patent was issued on Oct. 12 (No. 7,811,241). The inventor is Mary Baker, Norristown, Pa.
An abstract of the invention, published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, states: "A therapeutic pillow includes a flexible body with mated inner and outer layers. Such an inner layer has an outer perimeter that terminates inwardly of an outer perimeter of the outer layer. The apparatus further includes a plurality of spherical objects removably situated within the body and directly abutting an inner surface of the inner layer. Each of the spherical objects has a unique diameter. The body has right and left ends selectively folded along a centrally registered latitudinal axis registered orthogonal to a longitudinal length of the body wherein the right and left ends are directly engaged in such a manner that the spherical objects are prohibited from escaping beyond the respective outer perimeters of the inner and outer layers during operating conditions." The application was filed on May 24, 2007 (No. 11/805,336), and the document is available at: http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Pars ... +AND+IS/PA ***[quote]

I guess the
means me.you
Now let us see if I can make any sense of this strange post.
I found three patented inventions in the link that Forum Admin supplied, that might be of interest to some of us. So when Williamco says that I didn't explain anything, this statement does not make any sense. There is nothing for me to explain.
All I had done was to abstract what I thought might be of interest in order to save everyone going through the very tedious process of checking out each patent.
Since when does a person who posts an article of possible interest to some have to explain that article?
I certainly do not pretend to understand all patent descriptions. It is enough for me if I think that a few (in this case the technical minded amongst us) would appreciate reading the excerpts.
