Need CMS-50F Oximeter S/W - damaged CD-ROM

Post by lusoman » Sun Dec 13, 2009 10:26 pm

I just got a new computer, and tried to load my CMS-50F software on it, but it appears the CD-ROM is damaged.

If anyone has a copy they could share, or a link where I can download the S/W it would be much appreciated...

Okay, go ahead and confuse me some more.

WHAT is the difference between the CMS-50F, the CMS-50E and the CMS-50D oximeters???

Didn't anybody tell you CMS oximeter owners that it isn't nice to confuse little ole grey haired ladies???

50F is wrist with finger cap sensor, 50E is fingertip unit. 50D looks like older version of 50E.;

Here is a web page with them all:

http://www.echostore.com/pulseoximeter.html

Be warned, though, that ther are other letters, such as L and A on that page which may blow your mind: I can not be held responsible for cranial detonations...

I just posted a link to a chart that compares all the Contec oximeters, as well as a link to the various user's manuals on this thread: viewtopic/t47453/CMS50E-oximeter--RemSt ... CFlex.html. There's an example of an SpO2 software report there too.

Thanks, guys. Especially the warning about not being responsible for the brain detonations, LusoMan. It doesn't take much these days for this ole broad!

Lately I am curious about my high Vib snore score-- that is my only high number on the Encore software. Although I am following advise to lower the number, it is still well over 300.
I have pretty much decided to get one of these pulse oximeters to help me understand if the vibratory snore is meaningful to me on an oxygen level. I know that it is not a real snore because I set a voice activated recorder next to the bed--nada sound. So it must be a tissue vibration in the nasal sinus or pharynx; which might or might not be a real problem- I have no knowledge on which to base a judgement.
The decision of which oximeter to buy comes down to two choices-- wrist or finger. I think that the finger-tip one will come off at night while I sleep. I can't even keep the nasal pillow mask on so how should I expect something to stay on the tip of my finger unless it has the grip of a clothespin which would hurt like crazy.
Does anyone have experience with these finger oximeters coming off at night? It seems to me that I don't see how they would not come off during sleeping. I am pretty sure that most on this forum would agree that we don't need anything else waking us up if we can avoid it; including me. Perhaps I could use the wrist one at the gym too.

Stevah, The wrist units are easier to keep on, but it is not impossible to do so with the finger tip unit. The key to both of these units is to get a proper fit. If it is too tight, you will spend all night trying to get it off. If it is too loose you will end up with useless data from having the sensor slipping around. I like the data presented on the CMS finger tip unit along with the contained rechargable battery feature. If you interest is only in O2 saturation, either type will work fine.

I've only had my fingertip sensor from my ConTec CMS-50D+ come off during the night twice. And I've used it every night for a couple of months at a time.

What you could do is use some tape if you feel insecure about the fingtertip sensor. Just one strip to stablize the sensor if it would give you more confidence.
