trying out different masks

Hello

I was wondering if it is common when trying out masks that they give you used ones to try?

I was at the dme and the ones i tried were all used. I have a new Quattro but my nose is pretty sore so I want to try other ones and see if they are any better.

They sent me home with a used F&P forma mask to try out. I hope that if it works that they give me a new one.

Anyone else had to try out used masks? I assumed they were cleaned first.

I believe that they should give you a new mask to try...here in the US the DMEs can give you 30 days to try the mask...if it works you keep it, if it doesn't work for you they should exchange it for another...they can return it to the manufacturer for a new replacement.

I have the quattro and the bridge of my nose suffered the second night.
It has now healed with the help of a band aid at night, but it also leaked a little with the band aid.
The quattro mask works great if your a back sleeper, but do watch the bridge of you nose !

I am going in Tuesday to see if they can loan me a different mask to try.

I did the new mask thing today as well at my DME. I needed a FFM because this time of year my nose clogs up so he brough out several different ones for me to try and when I decided on one that didn't leak, I am trying the Mirage Liberty, He gave me the unopened bag with a new one in it. He told me he just sends the others back to the manufacturer and they send him new ones. I figure these masks probably only cost a couple bucks to manufacture so it shouldn't be a big deal for the DME to give out new ones. (Yes I'm lucky and found a good DME)
