Life Insurance

Post by macmermaid » Wed Oct 20, 2010 5:08 pm

Thought I'd just share with everybody some good news!

My husband was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea 11 months ago and has been diligently using his machine since, so his compliance numbers were spectacular.

We decided to apply for life insurance (we have a three year old daughter) but we were really afraid he might not qualify or might get a terrible rate because of the sleep apnea.

He qualified for the gold premuim (best) rate!!! $78 a month. He's 50 years old and only has one other medical issue - extremely high triglycerides that he takes medication for, and he is normal weight.

I got the standard rate - I'm 46, because my sister died of a heart attack at 46. The best rate was $45 and I got $74.

So don't let the sleep apnea scare you away from life insurance.

That is so great that you went ahead and got the life insurance, so many people dont even want to bring the subject up, but
that is very responsible of you, as you have a little one to take care of..

Thanks for letting us know about this...

and very glad to hear your husband is doing so well with his therapy.

Sorry LSAT, that is an important piece of info... $500K.
It was through our Farmers Insurance Broker. If we both go with Farmers, we could get a 5% discount on the rest of our insurance through them.
