Windows 7 64bit and Canon Pixma 340 printer

Post by newname » Sun Oct 17, 2010 5:45 am

Can I get smart card readouts from these? I have a Dell 1545 laptop, Windows 7 64bit and just bought a new printer Canon Pixma MX340.
I was reading on another post that its possible to read the smart card from the printer.
How do I do this?
I'm not technical so please use terms easy to understand.

Are you sure you didn't confuse being able to print the readouts as hard copies with reading them on the computer using the program software?

If it's a Legacy machine you have then probably no. If the Legacy has a smart card, it looks like a credit card and needs a special card reader. Not knowing whether the machine is fully data capable or just compliance reporting capable, I don't even know if the special card reader will tell you anything about your therapy.

A newer cpap that has an SD card and gives detailed data, in the Respironics line (the Legacy is a Resprionics machine I believe) would be the PR System One Pro or Auto.

If your printer has memory card slots, it should read the card from that newer PR machine.

You have to have Encore Viewer 2.0 software or Encore Pro 2.0 software as well and there are problems loading that onto a Windows 64 bit computer.

Encore Pro 2.4 64 bit is what you need for 64 bit systems (for those that use pro).

What difference does that make if you can't join the clan and get it. Still non-productive info. jim

Just because it's non productive to you does not mean it is to everyone. The post above said:

I posted that 2.4 is out in answer to that post, why aren't you whining that they are posting non-productive info? The post you just made is non-productive, guess that makes you a hypocrite.

Does it bother that people post info on equipment you do not have? Ever think that some things posted here do not pertain to you? Jeez, is anything that does not pertain to you non-productive?

Hi Jim

I have an information to give here in the forum. Virgin Galactic VSS Enterprise is passing well it's tests, soon we will be able to join the 340 space tourists already booked. So, we can book too while waiting for the new 64 bits software version for System One.

Now xsquid, that's useful info. At least we sleep deprived humans can start saving up for our passage. I hope they have power plugs installed for our XPAPS.

Thanks, Rosacer, for the info, something to look forward to while waiting for the new software for 64 bits for the System One to fall into the hands of the patients instead of the Doctors and DME's that can't figure out how to use it or don't care to. Along with waiting for the S9 model Z, that has a user friendly 12 Voly D/C power input with center POS. Jim

So, I would be better off to wait until I'm eligible to get a new cpap machine?
If I wanted to get my reports now with the equipment I currently own, what else do I need to buy?

Judging by the other thread it's "certain" end users that don't have a clue about 64 bit os's. Maybe "some" need to stick to windows 98, or cpap's that do not require software (maybe a hamster wheel powered cpap) .
