snuggle hose

Post by sbanner » Thu Oct 14, 2010 2:34 pm

Has anyone doubled the hose for more efficiency? Or, used a longer hose that had more fabric? Looking for solutions for condensation problems. I have been a cpap user for 2 years.

I have a ResMed cover on mine, but as my socks wear out, I wash them, double them up, cut a hole through the toe, and thread them onto my tube. I've got quite a collection! All that free insulation would go to waste if I threw my socks out when they wear out. (I'm not much for darning socks.)

Hi, try having your c-pap machine lower than your bed. I have never had any problem with condensation.

No amount of insulation on the hose will solve a problem with rain-out IF the source of rain-out is condensation in your mask.

Why not cut to the chase and spring for a heated hose. A heated hose will solve all but the worst cases of rain-out. Do a search on this board for Aussie Hose (aka ozzie hose, etc). There also is a thread on using reptile heating cables; many use them and claim they work just fine. If you have a Resmed S9 cpap, then you probably are aware that Resmed makes a climateline heated hose for it.
I'm workin' on it.
